If you're a Rays fan, don't pretend to know where the Red Sox are headed. If the trade with the Dodgers wasn't proof enough that Boston is headed back to the "home grown talent" route, I don't know what is.

i doubt any of these will ever make it with red sox. know red sox they will sign a big name during offseason and trade most of these guys away. i am a Rays fan but i just dont see this lineup so young in 3 years

Houstonbias.com also covers this really well. They are a bit deeper in the Astros system, talking about all of the top prospects. I think the Astros are closer to that successful starting rotation than you think

Im optimistic. I can see Green being a consistent .275-.280 hitter in the bigs. His defense has improved too, so that wont be a liability like it may have been a few seasons ago. The guys ready for the show and im glad he finally got the call

Overall, this is a pretty well written article. I like the fact that you not only mentioned Balfours stats, bur you also brought to attention his demeanor on the mound and the fact that he provides a spark in the clubhouse. Also, you acknowledged the depth of talent at the third base position--which is good, and your case for Donaldson being in the all star mix, is a strong one. I look forward to reading more from you in the future. Lets go Oakland!

Yeah, its B.S. that Porcello was suspended for 6 games.. The Umpire didn't even eject him from the game.. just gave him a warning.. What about Fernando Rodney? Is he being suspended for intentionally throwing at Miguel Cabrera's head after he hit 2 homers in the game? if he is to be suspended at all, it should only be for 1 game.. since he wasn't even thrown out of that game... what a sham!

Roberto Clemente is one of the best heros to have for any teenager, especially in this society of 'bad news' celebrities. Just look at Kim Kardashian or the many NFL players in the judicial court system.

It will be interesting if Jimenez decides to increase bat speed or a change in bat swing direction in order to create the "power" he thinks the MLB wants. Too many young players have been hampered, especially in some parts of Canada, by bad coaches who think that everyone needs to upchuck swing like Barry Bonds, or even Tiger Woods, in order to get the ball to the fence. If it's not broke, don't tinker too much with it. Increased bat speed should be enough for more power.

I agree but I'm still optimistic on Bard. He has the stuff to be good but he just had control problems, and was his own worst enemy at times. His walk rate was something like 15% or 16% of batters faced. Those numbers could be wrong though, that's just off the top of my head
